NBC's Andrea Mitchell Diagnosed With Breast Cancer
Andrea Mitchell announces breast cancer diagnosis on air

NBC journalist, Andrea Mitchell, announced yesterday that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 64-year-old urged her viewers to get screened for the disease.
Mitchell, the Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for NBC news and wife of former Federal Reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan, said on her program yesterday that she'd been planning on going hiking in Wyoming last week when she learned that she is "now among the one in eight women in this country -- incredibly, one in eight -- who have had breast cancer."
Get screened for breast cancer - it works!
The cancer was caught during a routine annual check up, Mitchell said on her program "Andrea Mitchell Reports." While she did not disclose the type or stage of cancer, Mitchell did say that it was caught in its early stages and called her prognosis "terrific."
Mitchell went on to encourage her women viewers to have regular screenings. In her characteristic style, Mitchell said simply, "Do it."
