Overview
Gemzar is used in the treatment of patients with advanced cancers including ovarian cancer, breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and pancreatic and ovarian cancer. It is meant for use in cases where chemotherapy has failed, relapse has occurred, or advanced stages of cancer are present.
The drug works by injection, primarily killing cells undergoing DNA synthesis and blocking the further progression of cancerous cells. It may be administered on an outpatient basis. By actively inhabiting the DNA synthesis, Gemzar works to stop or slow the reproduction of cancer cell integration.
Because dosage differs depending on condition treated, consult your doctor on your eligibility as well as possible treatment plan and schedule.
